My love for youtube know no bounds. All content known to man is on youtube. Any music video you can think of, all epsiodes of Thundercats, vids of ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson knocking someone out in 18 seconds, gun shooting in marginal baltic military ranges, 1980’s TV adverts, full movies; it’s a copyright violation wonderland. All the original content involves emo teenagers moping about having to tidy their room, 80 year old men moaning about their gammy hips or chavs trying to rap or kill themselves using a moped/playground rides. Awesome.

Imagine my joy when I discover that someone on youtube uploaded a video of the N*E*R*D gig in Hammersmith which I went to in 2003. Doesn’t sound too exciting but earlier that year my mate and me saw N*E*R*D in Brixton and out of nowhere Timberlake turns up and the crowd almost rips the roof off. Pharrell and Justin then bust out duets on a whole host of NERD/Neptures/Timberlake material and TimeOut vote it 6th greatest gig ever in London.

However this experience needed to be shared so when N*E*R*D were scheduled to play Hammersmith on the same night of the Brits we were sure there would be some ’special guests’. We got a posse (about 10 of us), headed down there, and true to form, Pharrell was joined by Timberlake, will.i.am, Dizzee Rascal and even bizarrely Naomi Campbell at one point. Unbelievable night and because there were so many of us there one of the best gigs I’ve been too.
