Currently facing the horror of a 56k internet connection. This compared to a 1meg line is similar to a pigeon carrying each bit of data over in a little note attached to it’s feet. Or relying on lunar and solar eclipses to send 1’s and 0’s over for your jpg of Britney sunbathing.
Thus trying to get broadband. Having to take up ADSL from notorious badboys Tiscali. Tiscali are actually two 13 year old kids with a T1 connection and 10,000m of ethernet cable which they hurl out of the car as they drive to their hub servers. They have 1 customer service rep who is on probation for abusive phone calls and who moonlights as the entire NTL customer service team.
It took me 45 mins to get through and all they said is -”We have no idea what the status of your order is. Please call back in a few days”.
